Wedding shower-WHO to invite? - funny wedding hotel card

My girls shower is in August this year. Some 200 people to the wedding, invited almost all from outside the city. We are not very close to our family in the city, but all, of course, be invited to the wedding.

My question: You can fly from California to New York and stayed in a hotel and everything, if they can participate in all wedding.I, the shower, as also know that it will come, but after all that feel inviting potential costs I .. . funny question and for those who do not go, and I know that you feel compelled to send a gift to a shower.
